That Artist Life
When my week is jam packed and I'm running between appointments, I like to escape to my studio for a creative break. Being a professional artist means I spend a lot of time on non-creative activities like organizing my Quickbooks, learning SEO, and conversion analytics. I love being involved in all parts of my business because I'm constantly being challenged in new ways. But, when I finally get to create new artwork, it feels different from all of my other responsibilities. Studio time is my free time. It feels like a mini vacation.
On especially hectic days, I retreat to my studio to work with simple color palettes. Shooting with a black and white palette is particularly grounding for me. I find the framed abstract art piece in this interior uplifting, because the white ink seems to be floating towards the top of the piece. The cloudy swirls seem soft & cozy against the black. I titled it "A Grand Plan." It measures just under 40" X 60" in this gorgeous contemporary interior. You can view more of my abstract ink portfolio here.
